Brown announces run for Public Service Commission

Webb Brown of Trout Creek announced his campaign for the District 4 seat of the Montana Public Service Commission (PSC). The seat is currently held by Bob Lake, who can not run again do to term limits.

"I entered the race for Public Service Commission to give back to this great state," said Brown. "A fifth generation Montanan, I love Big Sky Country and the people here. I will be an advocate for consumers like myself to ensure that basic services like electric, gas, phone, water and garbage are available and reasonable. I have the background to oversee our current services and the foresight to plan for the future in the changing world of energy, telecommunications and transportation."

PSC District #4 includes all of Sanders, Granite, Lincoln, Mineral, Missoula, Powell and Ravalli counties. The position has a four-year term. The Primary election is June 2, 2020.

Brown recently retired after 30 years working on business development for chambers of commerce and other organizations. He grew up and lives on a ranch in Trout Creek. He is also a past and current small business owner. He has been married to Kathy Brown for 24 years. Their daughter Nicole Brixey (Bill) and their daughters Leah and Annie live in Mesa, Ariz.

Brown has a bachelor's degree in Political Science and is currently enrolled in the University of Montana MBA program. His volunteer experience includes the Trout Creek Community Improvement Association, Trout Creek-Noxon-Heron Community Ambulance and the Clark Fork Valley Hospital Board. He has been recognized as Montana Manufacturing Advocate of the Year, Montana Export Advocate of the Year and recently received the Legacy Award from the US Small Business Administration - Montana.
