Community invited to Memorial Highway dedication, July 19

SEELEY LAKE - In March 2019, Governor Bullock signed SB 260 into law establishing an eight-mile stretch of Highway 83 through Seeley Lake as the Trenton Johnson Memorial Highway, honoring Trenton Johnson, the Grayback Wildland Firefighter, who passed away defending the community of Seeley Lake from the 2017 Florence Fire.

Family, friends, community members and partners are invited to gather at 10 a.m. Friday, July 19 morning on the grass lawn at Lindey's Prime Steak House for words of remembrance and a Memorial Highway dedication event to honor Johnson and his family.

Johnson, a native of Missoula, will be remembered for his positivity, ability to make everyone smile, leadership and excitement for life.

Words of remembrance will begin at 10 a.m. Missoula County Commissioner Dave Strohmaier will deliver a Missoula County proclamation at 11 a.m. A reception will follow where food and drink may be purchased on-site.

Seating will be on the grass. Parking is available along Highway 83 or across the Highway from Lindey's at Mission Bible Fellowship Church.
