Potomac students take the next step forward

POTOMAC - Memories and laughter partnered with smiles the evening of Potomac School's kindergarten and eighth grade graduation June 12 at the Potomac Greenough Community Center.

More than 120 people including great grandparents sat amongst friends and family for the event which began with a motivational speech by principal John Rouse.

Accompanied by their eighth grade buddies, the five kindergartners passed out flowers to their parents and then were escorted to the stage.

The eighth grade class of 10 walked in to their favorite songs amidst cheering and clapping and took their places on the stage. Speakers gave talks about the students and awarded them their diplomas.

Culminating the evening were treats and a slideshow from the eighth grade trip to Galveston, Texas.

Rouse said, "Graduation is a another step in their [the graduates] lives and a special time for families and a good day to reflect."
