June Ash celebrates 90th birthday

KALISPELL - June Ash recently celebrated her 90th birthday at The Heritage Place in Kalispell surrounded by family and friends.

Born on March 19, 1929 in San Jose, Calif., June attended schools in California and graduated from UC Berkeley in 1951 with a degree in Social Welfare.

June and her husband Rod first came to Montana in 1952 when Rod took a job with the Forest Service as a fire lookout on Big Swede Mountain near Libby. They spent many subsequent summer vacations with their young family camping in the Mission Mountains in Swan Valley, and eventually bought a cabin near Dog Creek. When R...
