Carl "Callie" Antone Bergset Jan. 11, 1959 - Feb. 23, 2019

Swan Song

SEELEY LAKE - On Feb. 23, 2019 with the backdrop of a beautiful snowy Montana morning, Carl Antone Bergset (aka Callie) age 60, passed away peacefully at his home in Seeley Lake surrounded by his family.

He was born Jan. 11, 1959 in Superior, Mont. to Carl and Annabelle Bergset.

He worked for the Pyramid Mountain Lumber Company for 32 years as a certified lumber grader.  He took great pride in his work and attained the recognition of his peers and was considered an expert in his field.

He was preceded in death by his father Carl E. Bergset, mother Annabelle M. Ray and beloved sister Kristine Koehler.

He is survived by: his sisters Olga Colburn and Jeanne Scheidt; brother Jim Ray; nephews Scott Bergset and Steven Koehler; niece Olivia Colburn; countless cousins; his uncle Gerald Roat and two aunts Barbara and Lenore Roat.

A very important part of our family that is impacted by Callie's passing is his very best friend Gerry (GerBear) Wood. Seldom did you see one without the other and we are honored to have him in our lives.

Callie was devoted to his family. He loved to hunt, fish, watch Nascar and hang out with his friends at the 5:00 Club. We were blessed to have some of his buddies over for the third stage of the Daytona 500 this year.  Callie was a kind, compassionate, generous man who touched the lives of many and will be missed by his hometown and his family.

A celebration of Callie's life will be determined at a future date and announced in the Pathfinder.

We would like to thank his Pyramid Mountain Lumber Company family including Darlene Troutwine for their unwavering support during this difficult time.  Thank you to those of you who came by to visit, bake treats and say a prayer in his name.  We will never forget the devotion, compassion and dignity of the entire Partners Hospice Team with a special tribute to Elilia Martz, RN.

We are forever humbled by the outpouring of support and we are proud to call Seeley Lake our hometown.
