Blackhawks pummell Eagles

MISSOULA - The Seeley-Swan Blackhawks and Lady Blackhawks decimated the Valley Christian Eagles on the Eagles home court Jan. 19.

The Blackhawks finished strong after a slow start racking up 27 points in the final frame nearly doubling their score. The final score was 60-24.

Four Boys scored into the double digits with Chance Johnson scoring 17, Cordell Turner 13, Dakota Wood 12 and Owen Mercado 11. The remaining points were scored by Hunter Shelmerdine with 4 and Walker McDonald with 3.

Wood sunk a pair of the team's three pointers while Mercado hit 5 of 5 from the free throw line. The team scored 8 of 11 free throws.

The Lady Blackhawks had no mercy on the Eagles as they held them to just a single basket in the first quarter, a handful of free-throws in the second, no points in the third and a pair of baskets in the final frame. Meanwhile the Lady Blackhawks pounded in basket after basket to the final score of 54-13.

Every Lady Blackhawks on the bench put points on the board as follows: Autumn Morse 9, Sariah Maughan 7, Lauryn Barnes 7, Chloe Robbins 6, Terra Bertsch 4, Ashley Miller 4, Jory Towe 4, Lily Mercer 4, Aspen Conley 4, Kara Good 3 and Taylor Dillree 2.

The Blackhawks and Lady Blackhawks head to Alberton Jan. 25 to take on the Clark Fork Coop with JV Boys starting at 2:30 p.m. and then host Plains Jan. 26 with JV Girls starting at 1:30 p.m.
