Mountain Cats fall to Seeley-Swan

SEELEY LAKE - The Seeley-Swan Blackhawks and Lady Blackhawks closed out 2018 with a victory over the Clark Fork Coop Mountain Cats at home Dec. 20.

The Boys dominated the Mountain Cats in the first half running up an 18-point lead. The Blackhawks held the Cats off in the second half to a final score of 69-49.

Chance Johnson pounded in 27 points to lead the Boys. Owen Mercado and Dakota Wood scored into the double digits as well with 18 and 14 points respectively.

The Lady Blackhawks had a tighter game with the Mountain Cats. They led at the end the first quarter 10-8 and it was still anyone's game at the half with the score at 27-24.

The Mountain Cats were leading by 1 going into the final quarter but the Lady Blackhawks fought back, finishing the Cats off 53-47 for the victory.

Terra Bertsch led the Ladies with 13 points including 7 of 7 from the free throw line.

The Lady Blackhawks punished the Cats from the foul line in the final frame hitting 8 of 10. The Ladies were 11 of 16 from the line in the game.

Also scoring: Ashley Miller 8, Aspen Conley 7, Autumn Morse 6, Sariah Maughan 6, Jory Towe 6, Kara Good 4, Taylor Dillree 2 and Lauryn Barnes 1.

Next week

The teams are off this week and take on Lincoln Jan. 3 and Charlo Jan. 4 at home with games scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m. both days.
