Big game hunting season ends across Montana

Montana's general big game hunting season closed Sunday, Nov. 25. Montana Fish, Wildfire & Parks reported deer and elk harvest totals were down in northwest Montana while hunter check stations in west-central Montana remained similar to recent years.

The five regional check stations in northwest Montana, tallied a combined total of 950 white-tailed deer, including 676 bucks, this season. That is down from 1,275 total white-tailed deer and 925 bucks harvested in 2017.
