Lady Blackhawks #1 in conference

The Seeley-Swan Lady Blackhawks are heading to the 13-C District Tournament as the top seed after finishing their season undefeated in conference play. They defeated Valley Christian 25-20, 28-26 and 25-23 and Darby 25-22, 25-13 and 25-13 to bring their record to 10-0 in conference and 13-3 overall.

Lady Blackhawks Head Coach Tammy Lewis said this is the first time since the nineties that the team has gone undefeated in conference play. They've been the underdogs in the last couple years picking off top teams at districts but this year they know they will be the team everyone is gunning for. Lewis said the team has great depth this year and is looking forward to tournaments.

In conference the Lady Blackhawks have won 8 of their 10 matches in just three games. Both matches against number two seeded Clark Fork went to four games. The Lady Blackhawks three losses this season has come at the hands of Charlo and twice against Arlee.

This week's tournament bracket is printed in the Cory's Valley Market ad on the back page of the Pathfinder. The Lady Blackhawks will face the winner of Valley Christian and Victor in their first match of the tournament Oct. 26 at 1:30 p.m. at Valley Christian in Missoula.
