Blackhawks nipped by Bulldogs

SEELEY LAKE - The Seeley-Swan Blackhawks traveled to St. Ignatius to take on the Bulldogs Sept. 21.

Head Coach Ryan Sokoloski said it was a good game and felt the team did will with what they had. They started the game with about a dozen players but were down to nine part way into the second half. He said none of the injuries were very serious but nonetheless took players out of the game.

Even with only one extra player, Sokoloski said the Boys fought the whole game but in the end attrition got the best of them.

On defense, Sokoloski said there were some significant errors that resulted in Bulldog touchdowns and ultimately put them out of reach for the Blackhawks.

The final score was 24-38 bringing the Blackhawks record to 1-4. No other stats were available.

Sokoloski feels the team should be ready to go for this week’s Homecoming game Sept. 29 against Victor. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
