Rosendale - Not a Man of His Word

In a state like Montana where hard work is valued and our word is our bond, you would think that Matt Rosendale would make an effort to follow through on his commitment to attend the first debate of the election. Instead, Rosendale decided to take a vacation to DC to schmooze with lobbyists and donors, and then backed out of the debate. Maybe someone could get away with that in Maryland—but Rosendale’s behavior won’t cut it for Montanans.

As soon as Rosendale became the Republican nominee for this Senate race, Jon Tester invited Rosendale to join him at the first possible scheduled debate in Whitefish. Rosendale told multiple news outlets that he would go (quote: “You’ll see me in Whitefish!”). But less than a week before the debate was set to take place, Rosendale bailed.

Saying one thing and doing another might fly in Maryland, but in Montana when we say we’ll be somewhere, you bet your farm we’ll be there. It’s no surprise for Rosendale though. Not even the best lawyer from the fanciest east coast school could defend his record of wanting to transfer our public lands or voting against our veterans.

Maryland Matt can’t run forever. Soon, he will have to explain himself to Montana voters—and when it happens, it won’t be pretty for him.

Re-elect faithful, hardworking Montanan Jon Tester to the U.S. Senate this November!"

Thank you!
