Alpine Revue Showcases Local Talent

SEELEY LAKE – The Alpine Revue Art Auction and Talent Show Saturday, May 19 offered something for every palette. Attendees were able to enjoy and bid on local artists' work while munching on treats and listening to local musicians and poets. All proceeds for the event went to support the Alpine Artisan's Inc. student grants, scholarships and outreach activities.

AAI board member Bob Green presented the AAI Youth Art Grants to five local students.

Seeley Lake seventh-grader Kaden Thornsberry will be attending guitar lessons at Music One Workshop in Kalispell, Mont.

Lilium Young, Seeley Lake fourth-grader, received a grant to take drawing lessons from local artist Kris Gullikson.

Eighth-grader Grace Wilson from Seeley Lake and fifth-grader Aubrey Matthew from Condon will be attending the Missoula Children's Theater Summer Theater Camp.

Finally Seeley-Swan High School junior Jared Townsend received a grant to attend the University of Montana Band Camp.

In addition to the auction, attendees could participate in the Scholarship raffle.

Charles Alsup won the one-hour Scenic Flight for three donated by Mike Lindemer. Angela Bennett won the Discoveries in Wood Juniper Lamp made by Dona Aitken. And David Johnson was drawn for the nine foot, six inch paddleboard with paddle.

Toes were tapping, people were dancing and everyone had at least one good laugh before the night was through all in an effort to continue to provide opportunities to students to explore their artistic abilities.
