Experience Matters

As the saying goes, “experience matters.” I could not agree more. What kind of experience do we want?

Being raised by a single mom who had to work for everything in life has taught me that nothing good is just handed to you, you need to work for it. She also showed me compassion and being there for people that are less fortunate than ourselves. I remember serving at a very young age at Mission 3:16 where we gave the little we had to people who needed it more.

I have brought these lessons and others to the private sector where I started my own small business. Starting with nothing I am now leading my small business to become the top in real estate in Western Montana but I will never forget the lesson that my mother taught me. Take care of people who need help and return a portion of the revenue to our local community. There is something about the Montana spirit that drives us to be better and we need that same Montana spirit in Helena.

We need to know the person we send to Helena will bring back results for this District. In the private sector, I advocated for the property rights for all Montanans. We passed bills that protected what we had but eliminated harmful regulations.  I advocated for a smarter government, not a bigger one.

We need a representative with compassion and the ability to get the job done for the constituents of House District 92. That is why I am asking you to lend me your vote and allow me to use my experience gained through hard work to work for you.

Vote Derek “DJ” Smith on your mail-in Ballot or on June 5.
