I Know What It Takes - Vote Ellinghouse

SEELEY LAKE - The Fire Service is an ever changing dynamic. If you don’t take the time to train and take classes, whether as a volunteer member or a trustee (and yes there are classes for trustees offered by the state), then you become complacent.

I know what it takes to do the job as a volunteer firefighter and EMT. I’ve been in burning houses, on the medical calls where loved ones were lost and at the motor vehicle accidents where the person is scared and needs a hand to hold. I know what it takes and what is needed to do the job.

I have gone in front of the Seeley Lake Fire Board asking for much needed equipment. I was stonewalled or given an excuse of there is not funds. Now the board is spending money like crazy. I ask why?

One member has been on the board for 20 years. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a person that is in the know of what is needed and understanding of the needs rather than scoff at it and stonewall the idea and then later take some credit for it, after being outvoted by the trustees, and when the equipment proves to be a serious benefit and help the district afford more needed equipment.

I paid for personal protective gear, including my radio, for wildland and structure firefighting out of my own pocket. I also paid for all my own wildland fire training above the basic classes required. I did all of this to benefit the district and serve our community to the best of my abilities.

Things have DRASTICALLY changed since this trustee has been on the department decades ago.

Another trustee is a former member, well decorated and had 20 years on the medical side. But, please keep in mind that the medical field in the Emergency Medical Services world is constantly evolving, with new protocols and needs.

IT IS TIME FOR A CHANGE!

I am a Structure Firefighter 1 with equivalent training for Structure Firefighter 2, an Extrication Specialist, a Wildland Engine Boss and Crew Boss, an EMT, a Certified American Hearth Association CPR and I worked in leadership roles for car accidents, medical calls, wildland fires and structure fires with efficiency.

Please vote for me for the Seeley Lake Rural Fire District Board of Trustees.
