As shoppers enter Loving Hearts they are now greeted with an open feel with many items displayed neatly on shelves.

SEELEY LAKE – Loving Hearts was given a face-lift this past week. They reopened Saturday, April 7 welcoming shoppers with a new bright, open atmosphere. Customers raved about how open, organized and new it looked.

"I felt that it just needed an update," said Mary Newpower, Loving Hearts' new manager.

They closed the store for a week. Newpower said they rearranged to optimize some of the space that wasn't being used. Volunteers streamlined the check-out counter. While the old check-out counter was in need of repair, the volunteers replaced it with one straight counter. This made for more usable space.

Volunteers painted the building with different colors to brighten the atmosphere.

"I thought bright colors would be nice," said Newpower. "Especially since we have had such a long winter."

Finally, more shelving was installed to make the shopping experience more user friendly.

The children's area is now brightly colored.

Volunteers worked for more than 40 hours during the week in the store and spent at least 12 hours buying supplies, going to Missoula and getting other things. Rovero's donated to the renovation project along with many other community members who donated materials, their skills and time.

Newpower said, "It needs to be a place that was fun to come to for everybody."

Loving Hearts is run by volunteers and operates solely on donations.

"The profits that we make are turned around to serve Seeley Lake and the surrounding communities," said Newpower.

They currently are in need of donations of clothing and household items. They should be clean and in good condition. Donations are accepted Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.  Please do not leave items on the doorstep as the rain and snow ruins them.
