Senator Tester – Are TV Doctors for Veterans Really Acceptable?

SEELEY LAKE - You take away Choice and give us “telehealth care?”  Seriously? You want the Veterans here to go to the Seeley Lake Post Office to see a TV doctor?  Seriously?  Is that the kind of health care you enjoy?

My husband - a 100 percent service connected disabled soldier - had hands-on true health care with our doctor in Seeley Lake!  Now you think seeing a TV doctor is acceptable?

Last time we were in Missoula (December) he was only seen by a nurse.  With promises of follow-up with a TV doctor (I thought they were joking) but nothing.  I’ve called VA at least three times, only promises - no appointments.  He can’t eat very well because of ill-fitting VA dentures - promises - no appointments.  I’ve tried to get him an appointment since October.

I’m finished waiting.  I’m not going to be one of those who wring their hands and say their loved one suffered and/or died waiting for medical care from the VA.  We’ll use Medicare and Tricare before I allow that to happen!

Why did you take away Choice?  At least then I felt like I had some control of his care.
