This New Year...

It’s shortly after the dawn of another new year, and I just thought I would share a few thoughts with you. Its always good to reflect on the past, being thankful for what God has done, and look forward to the future, being thankful for what He is going to do.

This last year, every one of us who lives in, visits, has family living in, or is somehow associated with the Seeley, Swan, and Ovando valleys, can be thankful that we were spared from catastrophic damage during the fire season.

I am thankful that God has given me another year to enjoy life here on earth with my family, friends, church and community. I am looking forward to see Him continue to provide for the physical, spiritual and emotional needs of myself and my family in the year to come and pray that He will continue to work in my life and be able to use me to further His kingdom.

I am a sinner, saved by faith through nothing I deserve or can do of my own accord. I thank God every day for His love, mercy, care, provision and grace.

As the snow piles up deeper and deeper and the cold seems to permeate the world around us, we can all be thankful for the warm homes God provides through the gift of thought and reason, which gave humans the ability to figure out how to heat our homes with the resources God has provided through the natural world around us. And snow is the God designed water storage system that nature employs to keep the streams and creeks flowing until the next winter.

The natural world around us works because God makes it work – another thing to thank Him for.

The Christmas season is a time to remember what the birth of Jesus Christ means for us and the world. The start of a new year is a great time to remember what God has done, and what He will do in the upcoming days and months.

God loves you – have a great new year!
