Genova holds a degree in Biopsychology and a PhD in Neuroscience from Harvard University. She is well qualified to write the fictionalized story of Alice Howland a professor of cognitive psychology at Harvard who experiences early-onset Alzheimer’s. She writes of 50-year-old Alice’s decline from disorientation in her hometown and even in her own home to not recognizing her children. The story has been described as a heartbreaking reality that gives voice to those suffering the disease.

Genova travels the world speaking about neurological diseases including Alzheimer’s disease, traumatic brain injury, autism, Huntington’s disease and ALS. She has appeared on numerous radio and television shows. Her online talk on “What You Can Do to Prevent Alzheimer’s” received more than two million views.

Elementary students from Salmon Prairie School plan to visit the library on a regular basis during the school year and spend time in the library reading a book they choose. Students who visit a library can learn how the library is organized and what other services are available.

Fiction and non-fiction books can be ordered from partner libraries and are delivered to Swan Valley library for the patron to pick up. A patron can order a book online or the librarian at the library can put in the request.
