Seeley Music Teacher Directs Final Spring Concert

SEELEY LAKE-The Seeley-Swan High School (SSHS) gave its final music concert of the school year Tuesday, May 23. This was the last performance under the direction of Kaytee Ambrozich.

"I was pleased with how it went," said Ambrozich after the concert. "It was a good showcase of the students' abilities."

The Spring Concert included performances by the band and choir. The SSHS creative writing class also shared several original works as interludes.

The choir started the performance with a duet of the "Star Spangled Banner" by sisters Cera and Mary Strumpfer. The full choir then joined for five more pieces, and junior Amaya Harman sang a solo version of "Love" by Lana Del Rey.

The second half of the concert featured six selections by the band. They finished out with a melody from "The Lord of the Rings."

After the concert, students congregated around Ambrozich for hugs. Many were unable to hold back tears. Ambrozich will be moving to Seattle after the school year to be with her fiancé. She taught music at SSHS and Seeley Lake Elementary for two years.

"I know they're going to be in good hands next year, but it is definitely hard to walk away after seeing them grow so much," said Ambrozich. "I'm really going to miss them."
