Swan Song

Our loving husband, father and grandfather Gary Alfred Noland entered into eternal rest and joined our Lord on Saturday, April 1, 2017. He was born May 15th,1943, the son of Billie D. Noland and Ethelyn Noland in Pratt, Kan.

Gary resided in Lakeside, Fort Worth, Texas. Over the past 10 months, Gary fought valiantly against cancer. He fought for every day to be with those he loved. He enjoyed life and blessing others around him.

Gary graduated high school from Kinsley, Kan. He attended the University of Kansas achieving a Bachelor of Science in Journalism. Gary and Millie Turqueza Jette became parents to Michelle (Noland) Houpt in Aptos, Calif. in 1985.

He lived in Medicine Lodge, Kan. in the mid 1960s and early 1970s when his parents purchased the Barber County Index newspaper. Gary moved to San Jose, Calif. later in 1972 where he started a commercial 24 hour printing company called TECHNOWEB.

Later in life, he returned to his publishing roots. Gary spent 15 years with his wife, Millie, as publishers and owners of the Seeley Swan Pathfinder newspaper in Seeley Lake, Mont. resort from 1988 to 2004.

Gary loved horses and at the age of five traded his horse for a piano. His dream was to go back into the horse world and ride horses. His daughter's love for horses and Equestrian riding led the family to sell the Pathfinder and moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 2004. Gary and his family have operated Confederate Park Farms and boarded horses there since its conception. During their time in Fort Worth, Gary also spent a short time as an independent contractor for a prestigious trucking firm during his retirement.

He became a grandpa at age 71 to William Tobias Houpt. William was his pride and joy. Gary was a loving, compassionate and kindhearted man. Upon retiring from his trucking business and selling Confederate Park Farms to his daughter and son-in-law, he continued to be a part of the ranch's operations up until his battle with cancer ended.
