Ardyce Thelma Gehrke Oct. 9, 1931 ~ Jan. 1, 2017

Swan Song

SEELEY LAKE - Ardyce went home to be with the Lord Jan. 1, 2017.

Ardyce was born Oct. 9, 1931 to Fred & Clara Schroder of Luck, Wisc. She grew up in Luck and worked in a bakery where she learned how to make and decorate all those wonderful cakes she made over the years for people.

She then moved to Minneapolis and worked at Boulevard Fox which was a women's dress making factory. She was a great seamstress. While living in Minneapolis, Ardyce was invited to go out with some friends on a blind date. She decided to go and that was the first time that she met her husband, Bill Gehrke.

They were engaged in October of that same year and then married Dec. 24, 1950. They made their way to Montana and over the years had six children, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Ardyce was very talented at making things out of wood, yarn, fabric...it seemed like if you wanted it, she could do it. She loved to make cakes, clothing, crafting and more for her community.

She also loved to go camping, exploring the countryside, fishing in Alaska, clamming and then canning all that they caught. She was one heck of a fish slayer...and one heck of a Mom!

MOM, WIFE, GRANDMA, GREAT-GRANDMA, FRIEND...YOU WILL BE GREATLY MISSED!! REST IN PEACE AND WE WILL SEE YOU AGAIN SOMEDAY!
