At the end of the ceremony, the veterans were invited to the front of the Seeley Lake Veterans Memorial for a photo. Without prompting the students walked up to each of the veterans, shook their hands and thanked them for their service. Members of the community followed their lead.

SEELEY LAKE – Veterans & Families of Seeley Lake (VFSL) hosted their annual Veterans Day ceremony on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month this past Friday. Members of the community and seventh and eighth grade students from Seeley Lake Elementary joined in song, prayer and tribute to past and present veterans that were in attendance.

All of the veterans in attendance at the Seeley Lake ceremony stopped to have their photo taken after they were thanked by the students and other attendees.

"Today we recognize those who have protected and continue to protect our way of life," said VFSL President Barbara Knopp. "While Veterans Day is typically a tribute to America's living veterans, it is always appropriate to include a moment of respect for those who gave their lives for their country. We wish to thank each and every one of you who served your country and we are very proud of you. Without our veterans we wouldn't be where we are today."
