Two Important Votes For Local Citizens

I support Addrien Marx for our representative in our state legislature. I’ve known Addrien for nearly 25 years. She and I don’t necessarily agree on all things political but her open-minded approach to our discussions has always impressed me. She is more of a centrist than I but that’s exactly what we need in that seat. We have more than enough outliers on both the right and the left already – let’s fill in the middle with some clear thinking by voting for Addrien. I encourage you all to consider that when you walk into the voting booth.

The role of commissioner for Missoula County is a major component of a well-run government. With only three members, it is critical that each member have a steady and studied approach to every issue, unclouded by emotions or party politics. I could wax poetic about Dave Strohmaier’s experience, honesty and amazing work ethic but that sounds like every candidate’s canned description.

What I feel makes Dave our best option is his professional experience as a career historian. Historians by their nature take the long view and deal in facts, not unsubstantiated stories. Momentary flashes of instant gratification when making policy decisions often results in poorly thought out decisions. Too many politicians fall into this category – Dave is not one of them. I trust him to give careful and thoughtful consideration to all aspects of every issue brought to the commissioners.

We rarely have an opportunity to have this sort of valuable non-political experience at the reins of local government and it would be wrong to pass it up. Because of this, I strongly endorse Dave Strohmaier for Missoula County Commissioner.
