Dave Strohmaier: Read His Website

I am certain many of you feel this way…the candidate you support must reflect your values. Values first, party second. By values, I mean what is the candidate’s position on issues that you believe are important to our county, state and nation.

Dave Strohmaier’s extensive experience in natural resources, local and state government, as a public official and in public service, merits my attention immediately. On Dave’s first day in office as a Missoula County Commissioner, he will know dozens of county and state officials and will be able to “hit the ground running.” As issues arise, he will begin a collaborative plan and he will know who to contact for strategies for the best outcome.

When reading the specifics of Dave’s background on his website http://www.strohmaierforcommissioner.com, once he reviews his leadership experience, he addresses four topics that are the heart of what I believe to be important as a Montanan and an American. I say this because I believe what we do locally is important nationally. Look over the topics of Dave’s five-point plan (which includes his leadership experience): land stewardship and conservation, planning and economic development, public safety and, jointly listed, human rights, social justice and cultural enrichment. And you do not have to wonder what he means by experience, land stewardship, etc. It is listed for you on the website.

One component of Missoula County’s government that Dave has emphasized his interest is the development and application of local growth plans. This interest will be best served by Dave’s background and experience in numerous components of Missoula’s (city and county) government and services. Recognition of his collaboration skills by county officials illustrates an invaluable attribute for working with the various areas of the County, Missoula and the Commission.

I believe that land stewardship and conservation is the most important topic to the majority of seasonal and fulltime citizens of Missoula County. And the candidates for our county and state offices who are willing and able to plan for the future are aware that this planet has a limited amount of space and therefore a decreasing amount of natural resources unless wise use and planning for every natural resource begins now.
