Strohmaier Provides Civil, Inclusive and Kind Leadership

Most likely you’ve read many endorsement letters supporting Dave Strohmaier.  He is worthy of the accolades. I won’t list all his accomplishments or reasons why he should be Missoula’s next County Commissioner, I’ve written or said them before.

I would, however, like to share an observation of Strohmaier while at a recent candidates’ forum. Strohmaier has campaign experience and knows Missoula County quite well--however, he didn’t lord over or belittle his opponent. If anything, he shared his opponent’s love for Missoula County and encouraged his opponent to further engage and articulate issues that are all nuts in need of cracking-- whether it was Seeley Lake’s sewer or drawing on his fire management experience to address challenges in the wildland-urban interface. Strohmaier is refreshingly civil, inclusive and kind. And I guess that’s the sort of leadership I enjoy.

I live in a rural area where party affiliation doesn’t really matter. I believe Strohmaier deftly bridges the rural urban-divide, both real and imagined. While Strohmaier’s opponent’s heart is in the right place I’m going to vote for Strohmaier because he has the experience to navigate the issues, whether it’s investment in infrastructure or preserving our farming, ranching and timber heritage to addressing municipal energy consumption and crafting a Missoula downtown master plan. He shares the same concerns and similar ideas as his opponent but at this point in his career, Strohmaier has the ability to successfully guide us to solutions.

Strohmaier fits Missoula County like a glove. Vote Strohmaier for Missoula County Commission.
