I came across these pet facts in a magazine.

Owning a pet can be good for your health. Pets can be a source of friendship and affection but can also have a positive effect on your health.

Studies have shown pet owners suffer fewer headaches and colds than non-pet owners. Petting and loving a pet can reduce heart rates and even lower blood pressure.

As Anatoli France once wrote, “until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened.”

People with children, are you teaching your children to have empathy for other people and animals? Do you teach them that not only to they have feelings but others have feelings?

Empathy is critical to strengthening relationships between people and pets. It is important that you do not let your children or other people hurt and kill little animals, as they will grow up feeling no empathy. They need to know cruelty is wrong. Children need to know growing up to feel that what they hurt has feelings.

Example, shooting baby rabbits with a BB gun, that’s the time you explain empathy. 4H would be so good and rewarding for your child.

A man who took a puppy and as it grew he chained it outside where it was chained for two years with no love and no interactions. Then one day he took his little girl to a shelter and gave the very skinny dog to the shelter and then wanted to know if he could take another dog. Of course he did not get one.

Where is the empathy? What did the little child learn from this? I know who this is. I advised him not to get another dog. The first time I see a dog chained at his place I will be on him like syrup on a pancake!!!! This man has no empathy, so read my second paragraph again and learn and teach your children and yourself empathy, mister.

Winter is coming. Make sure your pets are fed, watered, warm and loved!

Blessings and please be loving to each other and your pets.
