Lady Blackhawks Face Shootout After Defeating Prospectors

The Seeley-Swan Lady Blackhawks headed to Philipsburg and defeated the Granite Prospectors last week. The team then took on multiple opponents at the Mineral County Shootout in St. Regis. The Lady Blackhawks now have a 3-1 in conference and 4-3 overall record.

Versus Granite

The Lady Blackhawks made quick work of the Prospectors Sept. 26 in Philipsburg. The Ladies won the match in three games, 25-14, 25-20 and 25-16.

Lady Blackhawks Captain Alex Bohlman led with 3 aces, 14 digs, 6 assists, 10 kills and 3 blocks. Andi Bohlman had the Ladies only stuff block. Ashley Miller and Andi were close behind Alex in digs with 12 and 10 respectively.

Mineral County Shootout

The Lady Blackhawks were back on the road Sept. 24 heading to St. Regis for the Mineral County Shootout.

The tournament featured 15 Western Montana teams playing in three different gyms. Teams played each other three games to 15. The top teams from each gym along with the top second place team advanced to compete in the evening.

The Lady Blackhawks defeated Two Eagle River and St. Regis in three games each before coming up against Valley Christian. The Ladies fell to Valley in all three games.

Their final opponent, Arlee, took two of the three games and put the Lady Blackhawks out of the tournament. Valley Christian went on to win the tournament ahead of Drummond in second and Arlee in third.

Alex Bohlman led the Lady Blackhawks with 11 assists, 15 kills and 8 stuff blocks. Tessa Grimes had 10 aces and 5 blocks while Ashley Miller led with 7 digs.

This Week

The Lady Blackhawks are on the road this week for two games. First they head to Drummond Sept. 29 to take on the Trojans at 5:30 p.m. Then they are off to Charlo Oct. 1 with games starting at 4 p.m.
