Blackhawks Take on the Falcons

SEELEY LAKE - The Seeley-Swan Blackhawks hosted the Twin Bridges Falcons Sept. 23.

The Blackhawks defense came out strong forcing the Falcons to punt on their opening drive. When the Blackhawks offense couldn't move the ball either, the defenders came back with another big fourth down stop.

The game took a turn in the middle of the first quarter when the Falcons broke away for a 61-yard touchdown. Following the touchdown, a pair of turnovers set the Falcons up for two more touchdowns finishing out the first quarter.

The second quarter treated the Blackhawks no better as the Falcons put in another four touchdowns.

Though they were down by 47 points the Blackhawks came out in the second half ready to play. They only allowed the Falcons just one touchdown in each of the final quarters.

The Blackhawks' only points came in the final minute of the game. They worked the ball 65 yards down the field. Bradley Miller took it the final five yards for the touchdown. Nate Samuli pushed in for the two-point-conversion. The final score was 8-61.

Shane Lindemer led the Blackhawks with 65 yards on 12 carries. Lindemer also led with 6 solo tackles, 7 assisted tackles and one of the Blackhawks' two sacks.

Miller passed for 44 yards while Chance Johnson received three passes for 28 yards.

The Blackhawks next game is on the road at Arlee Sept. 30 at 7 p.m.
