Water District Maintenance in Double Arrow Phase IA

SEELEY LAKE - The Seeley Lake Water District is doing maintenance in the Double Arrow Phase IA area. The Water District is replacing fire hydrants in this area over the next couple years. We will be installing three more fire hydrants on Sept. 6. Unfortunately this means that we will have to shut off the water service in this area during this work.

The area affected on Sept. 6 will be from the Clearwater River Bridge to the end of Overland Trail. The water to this area will be shut down from 8:30 a.m. till 4 p.m. Hopefully our work will not take that long; however, replacing fire hydrants is a time consuming job. We will work as efficiently as possible so that, hopefully, we can return service as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.

Just for your information, the reason this work needs to be done is because the fire hydrants in Double Arrow Phase IA & II are obsolete and we can no longer get repair parts for them. The hydrants are older and are very hard to operate. We are trying to update the fire hydrants, in these areas, before we have a problem. The new fire hydrants will make fire protection easier, as well as our yearly flushing procedures. I want everyone to know that the current hydrants are still useable and there is no lack of fire protection in these areas. This is just precautionary work that needs to be completed.

I again apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. Please bear with us during this work. If you have any questions or problems please call anytime. The Water District office number is 677-2559 or you can call Vincent Chappell, our Manager, at 210-3760. Thank you for your understanding and support.
