The Kramers Bring Gospel Music and Good News Message to the Seeley-Swan

SEELEY LAKE - The Kramers gospel music group returned for the fourth year in a row to the Seeley-Swan. Of their 200 venues each year they said Montana is always their favorite location. They call Montana “a slice of heaven.” The Kramers played at Mission Bible Fellowship (MBF) in Seeley Lake and Condon Community Church July 3 and at the Condon Fourth of July Parade and Swan Valley Community Hall on the Fourth of July.

The Kramers are a national and international gospel music family group from Peoria, Ill.  D. Scott Kramer sings and plays guitar and keyboard while his wife Rachel West Kramer is the lead vocalist. Their 19-year-old daughter Maria Kramer sings and plays the ukulele, mandolin, piano and guitar. Their 17-year-old son Weston also travels with them but does not perform.

Rachel said the story of how they first came to Condon was very special. Pastor Bruce Rippy at Condon Community Church had seen them in a Samaritan Ministries newsletter.

“He called us and asked if it would ever be possible to come to Condon and perform,” said Rachel.

She asked Scott what thought about the request. He thought coming to Montana would be a great.

The first two years the Kramers played in Condon. Last year they added another performance in Seeley Lake. This year they spent the week in Condon with David and Joann Davis playing again in Seeley Lake as well as Victor and Condon on the Fourth. They have already been invited back next year to Victor and hope to return to the Seeley-Swan as well. Their concerts are always free and open to the public with donations accepted.

The Kramers shared hymns, southern gospel and old favorites that left the audience tapping their toes, clapping their hands and singing along. By mixing stories and scripture with their music, the Kramers shared the good news of Jesus Christ.

During their performance at MBF, Kramer spoke of the family’s hike to Holland Falls. She said standing at the base of the falls she was overwhelmed.

“I could see God’s provision and his amazing grace come crashing down to where our cup cannot even hold this,” said Rachel. “So often we say ‘we’ve got this’ preventing God from filling us.”

She encouraged those in attendance to humble themselves before God and allow Him to fill their cup to overflowing.

“It has been a rich blessing every time we have come,” said Rachel. “Everyone is so relaxed and happy compared to those in the city.”
