Missoula Man Rescued, Could Face Charges

Two Bear Air, the free rescue helicopter based out of Kalispell, Mont. taking off from the Incident Command Post at the warming hut near Lake Elsina.

SEELEY LAKE - A 19-year-old Missoula man was rescued from the Marshall Lake area Sunday, June 3. Two Bear Air rescue helicopter got him out after he was found by Seeley-Swan Search and Rescue (SSSAR) volunteers. The man was uninjured but may face criminal charges and be responsible for restitution costs from fires that were lit in his proximity.

The 19-year-old was camping with friends at Lake Elsina over the Fourth of July weekend. According to SSSAR Chief Gerry Connell, he decided to hike into Lake Dinah and go fishing Saturday afternoon by himself. Leaving as it was getting dark, he was...
