Sue Eckstein 1955 ~ 2016

Swan Song

SEELEY LAKE - Sue Ellen Eckstein, age 61, passed away, on June 21, 2016 at 4:24 p.m. after a long battle with cancer. She was born April 18, 1955 in Massillon, Ohio to the late Robert L. Green and Z. Grace Green (Ellis). On May 31, 1975 she married the love of her life Ken Eckstein.

Sue leaves behind her husband, Ken; her son Michael (Heather); grandchildren Mischa and Mikey Jr.; her brother Bob Green and several nieces and nephews. In addition there were many who called her Mama Eckstein, especially Christine Kitora.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Karen Mullins; a brother, Ray Green and a nephew, Rafe Piatt.

Sue loved the Lord, her family, Montana, music and living each day fully!

Sue lived in Seeley Lake for several years in the early 2000s working at the bank and Valley Market.

In August of 2013, she retired from Bank of Ann Arbor, Mich. due to her declining health. As the main office receptionist she truly enjoyed her job, co-workers and customers. Over a 30+ year span, banking had been her main employment. However, while living in Ann Arbor she ran a licensed day care out of her home for 13 years.

Sue was an avid EMU sports fan. She was a member of Blue Ocean Faith in Ann Arbor and enjoyed being a greeter there.

A memorial service will be held at St. Clare Episcopal Church on 2309 Packard Street, Ann Arbor, MI 48104 Sunday, June 26 at 1:30 p.m. with refreshments to follow.

There will also be a service held in Seeley Lake later this summer.
