Strohmaier will Protect the Landscape We Love

I fell in love with Montana during a pack trip in the Bob Marshall Wilderness when I was eight years old. Twenty years later, I’m still finding new streams, lookouts, forests and ridgelines that amaze me every time I head out. One of the best parts about living and working on the land (as I do during the summers) in Missoula County is that you don’t have to go too far out your front door to access this beauty.

In the face of expected development and a changing climate, though, we need to elect a county commissioner devoted to conservation and land stewardship. That’s why I and other members of Montana Conservation Voters are supporting Dave Strohmaier.

Dave Strohmaier’s commitment to protecting the landscapes we know and love has been proven time and time again in his work for the Bureau of Land Management, the U.S. Forest Service and the City of Missoula’s City Council and its Parks and Conservation Committee.

In addition to his strong track record of prioritizing the environment in his professional career, Strohmaier can relate to our concerns on a personal level as a lifelong hunter, fisherman and outdoor enthusiast. Above all, he is willing to collaborate, hear both sides, think creatively and find ways to balance competing interests.

As a young adult hoping to establish a career and a future in Missoula County, I want to live in a community where the elected officials share my priorities. Dave Strohmaier is upfront about the realities of climate change and the threats to clean air, clean water and healthy ecosystems.

Please join me in protecting the landscape we have all loved since we were kids by voting for Dave Strohmaier.
