Vote Dave Strohmaier for Commissioner

Last year after Missoula County Commissioner Bill Carey announced he was retiring mid-term, the Missoula Democratic Central Committee held a forum which resulted in three people being nominated for presentation to the Board of Commissioners.  The two voting Commissioners agreed to APPOINT Stacy Rye on the first ballot.

Now, after working with Stacy for seven-plus months, one Commissioner has endorsed Dave Strohmaier and the other has NOT endorsed Stacy.  To me that means Stacy does not play well with others and that she has created what will be a hostile work environment for the next six years if elected.  This has even been confirmed by some of her supporters who have agreed she is frequently abrasive, rude and tactless.  Also of note: no letters to the editors (LTE) of support seen from any of Stacy’s previous employers.

Even if all this is only half true, Stacy is not the type of personality I want interfacing with the public and potentially causing an exodus of the many highly qualified and talented people currently working for the county.

Dave, on the other hand, is the type of person who can disagree with you adamantly, then, win or lose, move on to the next issue – no gloating on a win and no pouting on a loss.  Contrary to comments in some previous LTEs,  Dave will not be Jean Curtis’ second vote.  I know for a fact they already disagree strongly on at least one subject.  But, it will not keep them from working together to do the best for Missoula County.

Now, at the last minute, Stacy is advertising she is running for RE-election when she was never elected in the first place – very misleading and dishonest.

Keep Missoula moving forward with honesty, sincerity, and teamwork – Vote for Dave Strohmaier for Commissioner
