Blackhawks Host B-C Tournament

SEELEY LAKE - Eleven teams from Class B and C schools gathered at the Double Arrow Golf Course in Seeley Lake Tuesday, May 3. The day was clear and sunny, just right for a golf match.

"The kids are playing good and we're getting excited for State. It was a great day," said Head Coach Wayne Cahoon.

The Blackhawk gentlemen took fourth place overall with two players in the top 10.

Junior McKinley Nicholas took the seventh place spot after shooting an 81. Senior Jacob Haley wasn't far behind as he tied for ninth with an 86. Senior Joshua Cahoon and Sophomore Shane Lindemer finished off the team score, each with an 87. The Blackhawks team total was 254.

The Lady Blackhawks also finished in fourth place. Junior Jessie Hood led the team with a 110, which tied her for the sixth place title. Teammate Serena Loney shot her personal best at 120, qualifying her to play in the State Tournament. Freshman Nicole Williams finished off the team score with a 161, which gave them a 391 total.

Thursday, May 5, three Blackhawks headed out to battle, this time in St. Regis. Senior Jacob Haley and Junior McKinley Nicholas both shot scores worthy of the top ten. Haley marked an 84, which gave him the fifth place spot. Teammate McKinley Nicholas was close behind with an 87, he took eighth place overall.
