AAI Art Auction and Community Talent Show

SEELEY LAKE - Alpine Artisans, Inc. (AAI) presents their first Alpine Review: Art Auction and Community Talent Show May 6 at the Seeley Lake Community Hall. Attendees have the opportunity to enjoy a silent art auction, delectable foods and local entertainment while supporting AAI’s youth art grants and scholarships. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

The idea for the event came from youth scholarship coordinator Dona Aitken. It replaces the Wine and Chocolate fundraiser and adds to the amount available for the grants and scholarships that comes from the Painting for a Dream at the Rich Ranch in June.

The event will be a Bistro setting with round tables seating four each. Fourteen acts performed by members of the community including Cheryl Lewis, Kal Kovatch, Seeley-Swan High School Choir, and Adian and Zia Kloetzel will entertain during two, 40-minute segments with a 15-minute intermission.

There will be a silent art auction and four raffle items: a one-hour scenic airplane flight; wine tasting, guided wilderness hike and gourmet picnic; stained glass lamp; and a $100 gift certificate to SLE Outside. Raffle tickets are available at the Grizzly Claw and the Filling Station.

“Alpine Artisans’ is excited about the opportunity to showcase a great variety of local adult and student talent at this new fund raising event,” wrote AAI Program Director Jenny Rohrer in an email. “Our Youth Grant and Scholarship program has identified and supported emerging artists for years, first through the Wine and Chocolate Auction which ran for 20 years - and now this new Art and Talent Revue. It will bring both the work of local artists and performers to the front stage for the community to enjoy and support.”

Tickets are available at the door for $10 per person and from Colleen Stone at the Stray Bullet in Ovando. Youth under 18 are free.
