Lady Blackhawks Deny Prospectors and Dominate Lynx

The Seeley-Swan Lady Blackhawks added a pair of wins to their season by defeating Granite and Lincoln last week. The wins give them an overall record of 15-1.

Versus Granite

The Lady Blackhawks took on the Granite Prospectors in Phillipsburg Feb. 5.

The Lady Blackhawks took an early lead in the first quarter before blowing out the game in the second and third quarters. They coasted through the fourth to a 61-31 victory.

Paige Holmes led the Ladies with 17 points including a pair of three-pointers. Delaney Holzworth and Alex Bohlman followed Holmes with 11 points each.

Also scoring: Elizabeth Done 6; Cera Strumpfer 4; Stevi Meade 3; Tessa Grimes 3; Marisol Caro 3; Stephanie Robbins 2 and Mary Strumpfer 1.

Versus Lincoln

The Lady Blackhawks hosted the Lincoln Lynx Feb. 6. It was a blow out game.

The Lady Blackhawks showed off their defensive skills, shutting down the Lynx's offense, allowing only a single layup. The Lady Blackhawks committed only five fouls giving the Lynx just two opportunities at shots from the foul line.

On the other side of the court the Lady Blackhawks racked up basket after basket to the 53-3 victory.

Tessa Grimes led the Ladies with 14 points while Delaney Holzworth downed two, three-pointers and a pair of two-pointers for a total of 10 points in the game.

Also scoring: Paige Holmes 7; Alex Bohlman 6; Mary Strumpfer 6; Stevi Meade 4; Marisol Caro 4 and Stephanie Robbins 2.

This Week at SSHS

The Blackhawks and Lady Blackhawks head to Darby Feb. 12 to take on the Tigers with games starting at 2:30 p.m. The teams then wrap up the regular season with a home game against Victor Feb. 13. JV games start at 1 p.m. The Blackhawk seniors will be recognized ahead of the first varsity game at approximately 3:45 p.m.
