Snowmobilers Out for Fun

SEELEY LAKE - The Seeley Lake Driftriders snowmobile club packed the Seeley Lake Community Hall Saturday night and ran the trails on Sunday for their annual Snow Ball Weekend. Snowmobilers came from across Montana to enjoy the more than six inches of new snow in the valley and more than two feet of fresh power in the mountains.

The Driftriders filled the Seeley Lake Community Hall to capacity Saturday night for their annual Snow Ball fundraiser. Lindey's Prime Steak House catered a prime rib dinner and there was more than $5,000 worth of donated merchandise given away in the raffle and available to bid on in the silent and live auctions.

Sunday morning snowmobilers took to the trails for the annual Poker Run. Around 100 riders participated in the ride playing 272 hands, a record number for the event. A total of $2,500 in prize money was awarded for high and low hands for men and women.

"We want to thank all the businesses and those from the community who donated to our event as well as the people from the club that make this happen," said Driftriders President Shane Heupel. "Also thank you to everyone who attended the event and made this such a great weekend."

Driftriders' Administrative Secretary Kristy Pohlman added, "I just want to send a shout out to all of the local businesses who helped to make this weekend a success. Without their support and donations, this would not have been possible or successful!"
