SVES Opening Games Highlight Areas that Need Attention

SWAN VALLEY - Swan Valley Elementary School (SVES) “A” and “B” squads dropped two games to the Hall Huskies Saturday as cold shooting and ball control left the local teams losing 33 to 8 for the “B” squad and 32 to 18 for the “A” squad.

Neither team made a free throw and first game turnovers gave up several baskets to the team from Hall.

Looking on the bright side, coaches Katie Gleason, Ken Donovan and John Tapp were pleased with the hustle and aggressive play of both teams.

“We were tied at half time and the kids were getting good shots but could not get them to drop in the second half,” said Ken Donovan. “Back to the basics now,”

The coaches commented they have great, very smart, hard working kids. It’s just a matter of coming together as a team.

For the “B” squad, Kyla Conley led in scoring with 6 points and Chris Auchenbach added 2.

The “A” squad had Rose Mercer with 2 points, Jayla Kauffman with 4, Seth Richardson 4, Aspen Conley 2, Kinley Moore 2 and Addie Anderson with 4.
