Lady Blackhawks Overcome Vikings

The Seeley-Swan Lady Blackhawks clawed their way back from an 18-point deficit to defeat the Bigfork Vikings on the road Jan. 2. The victory over the Class B school furthered the Lady Blackhawks' winning record to 6-0 overall.

The Lady Blackhawks took a beating the first quarter, only scoring two points to the Vikings 20 points. Scoring picked up for the Ladies in the second quarter allowing them to chip away at the Vikings' lead.

By the end of the third quarter, the Lady Blackhawks pulled in front as they were able to hold the Vikings to a single three-point shot. The Lady Blackhawks sealed the deal in the fourth for a final score of 48-39.

Alex Bohlman led the Ladies in scoring with 12 points. Paige Holmes followed with 11 points. Eliana Robinett had the team's lone three-point shot of the game.

Also scoring: Tessa Grimes 8; Delaney Holzworth 6; Robinett 5; Stephanie Robbins 4 and Cera Strumpfer 2.

This Week at SSHS

The Blackhawks and Lady Blackhawks host the Philipsburg Prospectors Jan. 8 with games starting at 2:30 p.m. The teams then head to Lincoln Jan. 9 to take on the Lynx. Varsity Girls start at 3:30 p.m. followed by the Varsity Boys with no JV games.
