Please Paws for People and Pets

Hopefully everyone had a good Thanksgiving. My family did not come due to bad weather. However, I was glad as my two dogs and cat tangled with a skunk that was trying to get on my deck through a small hole under the fence.

I let the two little dogs out with the cat. Minnie, the poodle, spotted the skunks head and dashed to grab it, which she did and then Mollie, my terrier, jumped in and grabbed the skunk by the neck and was pulling it in. About half way in, the cat jumped on the skunk and started pulling hair. By that time the dogs had the skunk all the way in, it had had its revenge!

For me, I spent the next two hours scrubbing dogs, first with the peroxide solution then with their regular shampoo. The cat was left outside in a warm area she has. Oh, yes, it’s good the company did not come. This all comes about because Charlie’s little poodle thinks she is a 150-pound dog.

Well, as you who get the Pathfinder read where the Cebulski home was almost destroyed during the windstorm, which was awful. In talking to Barb though she told me they had lost their beloved Yazzie, a little dog they had for several years, just last month. Barb never cried about the house but sure cried when she told me about Yazzie. Well many of us know the pain Barb feels. Sympathy to Barb and Ray in their loss of Yazzie.

And it seems we still have a light colored lab running out on a Double Arrow Road in a threatening manner. It sometimes even has a leash on it. Apparently the owner doesn’t know when he puts the dog’s leash on, he’s suppose to be on the other end of it. Take a picture of the dog when he does this and take it to the owner. Tell him the next time the picture is going to Animal Control.

Many people spent hours and a day and a half looking for a beloved dog, because it had no I.D. on it. People, this is senseless. If you love your dog why can’t you put an I.D. on it?? Luckily a neighbor knew the dog but did not know the owner due to no I.D. and also knew another neighbor had taken the dog in due to the cold. Thanks Larry and Dillonk for your kind hearts. The owner should be ashamed for the stress that was caused due to his not having a tag or tags on his dog. Had Animal Control been called, it would have cost him $200 to get his dog back.

Remember the ordinance on keeping your dogs safe: I.D., rabies shots, fed, kept warm and loved!

To the person who moved and left three cats to starve and suffer this terrible cold that is absolutely cruel! One cat sat for 30 days on the doorstep waiting for you!!! Shame on you and I know who you are! May your Xmas be filled with coal and very used cat litter and I will be seeing you!!!

For you who do not neuter and spay, this is stupid! One female dog and her litter can be the source of 67,000 puppies in six years!!! One female cat and its young in seven years can produce 420,000 cats animal humane agencies estimate. Spay and neuter, you have no excuse. Our fund will help!

I wish you all a great Christmas and the best New Year! Please be kind to each other and to your pets and if you see a pet suffering report it!!! I thank all of you for your great support, with your help we have saved many precious pets.

P.S. If you need a 150-pound poodle to fight a skunk just call, I have one. HAHA!
