Series: Business of the Week | Story 11

Goal: Owner and General Contractor Ted Linford works to build a lasting quality product that has his customers smiling when the project is done. Linford enjoys paying close attention to detail in all areas of construction. "We specialize in working with the customer to achieve their vision," said Linford.

History: When Linford was a teenager, his father started buying one house at a time that needed a face-lift. He and his brother were the crew on the projects that, as he said, "always turned into more extensive work." Linford continued working while college for a realtor doing the same thing.

Linford started working in Seeley Lake in the mid-70s as Lodgepole Construction. He moved to Seeley Lake in the early 80s and changed his business name to Linford Built Construction in 1988.

Linford works out of a shop at his home. He has had the same employees for the past six to ten years employing two full-time and two part-time workers throughout the year. "I have kept the business small to maintain a high level of quality," said Linford.

Linford enjoys being involved in all parts of the construction, especially the finish work and shop work. "My employees are really good at it all as well," said Linford.

Linford feels as though he has been blessed during his career because work has always come his way. He has been involved in the Seeley Lake community, focusing his talents and financial contributions on the schools, helping to address their needs.

Products & Services: Linford Built Construction constructs new homes, additions and remodels. They work with both frame and log buildings. "We like the challenge of rehabilitating traditional, damaged and historic buildings," said Linford.

Linford Built Construction does a lot of interior millwork including trim packages and railings. They use local, professional sub-contractors in areas where the sub-contractors excel.
