Trunk-or-Treat Returns for Second Year

SEELEY LAKE - The Seeley Lake Trunk-or-Treat is back for its second year at the corner of School Lane and Pine Drive. The community is encouraged to decorate trunks and bring the whole family for contests, games, prizes, tricks and treats from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 31.

There are several contests to participate in this year. Bring a decorated or carved pumpkin by 6 p.m. for judging. Trunks will be judged in five categories: Best Story; Best Disguise; Silliest/Cutest; Vintage and Time Travel. There will also be a costume parade for children and adults at 7 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for the best overall adult costume and in eight categories for children: Scariest; Silliest; Goriest; Best Baby; Vintage; Homemade; Eco-friendly and Best of Show. Judges will announce their choices and prizes will be awarded at 7:45 p.m.

The Seeley Lake Volunteer Fire Department will again provide warming fires for the event but participants are advised to dress for the weather. There will be a variety of games to play, prizes to win and trunks to visit.

Organizers are still looking for volunteers and ideas for the event. To get involved call Alex Kues at 406-210-1755.

Kues would like those planning on bringing a trunk to reserve their space. Although she may be able to work trunks in the night of the event, space is limited. She asks that all trunks be in place by 5:30 p.m.
