Blackhawks Overrun by Bobcats

The Seeley-Swan Blackhawks took on the Superior Bobcats on the road Oct. 16.

The Blackhawks took a 14-point lead early in the game starting with a 10-yard touchdown run by Jacob Haley. Matt Teague made the 2-point conversion stick and scored the Blackhawks a second touchdown on a 32-yard pass play from Shane Lindemer.

The Blackhawks were able to hold their lead through the first quarter and into the second. After three unanswered touchdowns from the Bobcats, the Blackhawks were down eight at halftime.

The teams traded the lead throughout the third quarter. The Blackhawks headed into the fourth quarter with a narrow lead.

Seth Linford took a pass from Lindemer for a 49-yard touchdown to extend the Blackhawk’s hold on the game but it wasn’t enough. The Bobcats scored two final touchdowns to overrun the Blackhawks 44-50.

Teague led the Blackhawks, in points, scoring two touchdowns and their only two-point conversion. Haley and Linford also had two touchdowns each while Joshua Cahoon had one.

Haley led in rushing with 62 yards in 14 carries. Lindemer completed 11 of 20 attempted passes for 204 yards. Linford received 4 of those passes for 82 yards.

On the defensive side, Haley led with 9 solo tackles and 3 assisted while Teague had 7 solos and 9 assists.

This week is the Blackhawks last game of the season. They meet Plains at home Oct. 23. Seniors will be recognized ahead of the game at 6:40 p.m. with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
