POTOMAC – When Potomac School Principal John Rouse got the call from the Missoula City-County Health Department in mid-September that one of the students had tested positive for COVID-19, months of planning and policies were put to the test. MISSOULA - During their virtual press conference on Tuesday, Oct. 27, the COVID-19 Joint Information Center announced new Missoula County restrictions that will go into effect at 8 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 29. OVANDO - The scarecrows have been set up in Ovando as part of the first Ovando Scarecrow Contest in 20 years. "I thought maybe this was a good time [for the contest]," competition organizer Terry Sheppard said. "People are all stressed out. [I thought it would] give them a reason to get out." SEELEY LAKE - Over a dozen cars came together Halloween night to welcome trick-or-treaters at the seventh annual Trunk-or-Treat event hosted at Seeley Lake Elementary. SWAN VALLEY - Around 10 trunks participated in the second annual Trunk or Treat event at the Hungry Bear Steak House in Condon. There was also hot cider and music for attendees to enjoy. MISSOULA – Hunter numbers through the west-central Montana wildlife check stations were down through the first two weekends of the big game hunting season. Hunter success held above average at the Anaconda and Darby stations and fell below average through Bonner.
