  • Looking Back on 100 Years

    Betty Vanderwielen, Pathfinder|Jun 14, 2018

SEELEY LAKE – Seeley Lake summer resident Elizabeth Moody's birthday was a pretty big deal this year – on May 21st she turned 100 years old. Elizabeth is far from the stereotypical grey-haired, feeble, little old lady in a wheelchair struggling through a fog of dementia to grasp what's going on around her. The use of a walker and a daily afternoon nap are concessions to her body's ageing, but her mind is still sharp and so is her memory -- and her hair has retained its natural che...

The gratitude and admiration I have for this community’s support in the recent primary election is difficult to convey in language. Despite the fact that I was not the nominee for the general election, I’m overwhelmed by your turnout at the polls. The resilience of this community has clearly been evident in the unprecedented wildfire season last summer, a long winter and subsequent spring floods. Your determination to face all of these challenges with dignity, humility and a spirit of unrelenting optimism is a wellspring of inspiration for man...

First, it is necessary to mention that there are basically two categories of people involved: the abuser or perpetrator and the abused or victim. Clearly, the abuser inflicts abuse on the abused....

  • Are Pussytoes Really Flowers?

    Randi de Santa Anna|Jun 14, 2018

Rosy Pussytoes (Antennaria rosea) are one of my favorite wildflowers. You might ask why, since they're pretty small in every aspect. I love them because they are tough little buggers and can grow in extreme habitats. I can't tell you how many times I have been hiking in rocky, mountainous terrain and been delighted by their sweet, pink nodding flowers. They also grow throughout our valley in the forest and grasslands. Rosy pussytoes are in the Composite Family (Asteraceae). Flowers in this...

  • God is Holy

Craig Wilson, Pastor, Mission Bible Fellowship|Jun 14, 2018

In my articles I have been looking at the attributes of God. These are the characteristics of Who God is and how the Lord relates to us. The holiness of God is mentioned abundantly throughout the entire Bible. At the same time, the attribute of God’s holiness is difficult for us to wrap our minds around. The challenge to grasp God’s holiness is actually because this attribute shows us the extent that God is beyond you and me. That God is holy means He is perfect and pure but more than this God...
