Water District Customers
Attention Water District Customers This is a notice to inform you that the Water District, unfortunately, will implement a 3% water rate increase on April 1, 2024. Our last 5% rate increase was January 1, 2023. We strive to keep our costs as low as possible; however, our expenses have risen dramatically over the last few years. Some of our expenses, such as insurance and chemicals, have seen a more than 150% increase. The cost of parts has also increased dramatically. We continually try to find different ways to lower costs and optimize operations, to lessen the financial impacts to our customers. This 3% rate increase will raise the base water bill (not including water usage) from $52.57 to $53.16, an increase of $0.59 per household. For example, the average family who uses 4,000 gallons of water a month, was paying $62.77 and after the rate increase will pay $63.68. This is an increase $0.91 per month. As you can see, this is not a huge increase in cost. The district strives to keep water affordable for everyone. We are trying to do our best, here at the Water District, to keep our community supplied with the cleanest water we can, at the lowest possible cost. We encourage anyone with concerns to call or stop in at the office, anytime. Our goal is to keep our water safe and our customers satisfied. If you have any questions, please call 677-2559 at any time. Thank you and sorry for this inconvenience this may cause.
