Ovando Hosts Celebration Concert

OVANDO - This Friday, June 15, Ovando will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Great Divide Trail as well as its 2018 award for Montana Community of the Year for Tourism and Recreation with a concert and party.

Ben Weaver, a songwriter, performer and bicycle advocate will be riding in to town with his guitar and banjo to “highlight, celebrate and give back to all the people and communities that have supported riders on the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route,” according to the Ovando newsletter about the event.

After Weaver’s performance, Adin Kloetzel, a local musician, will perform as well.

The celebration will include opportunities to purchase food and alcohol with a hotdog and hamburger stand provided by the Blackfoot Commercial Company and a beer garden provided by the Stray Bullet from 5 - 7 p.m. There will also be a homemade baked goods stand run by Jean Pocha.

Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets or other sitting arrangement as the area of the event is asphalt and gravel. The concert will start at 7:30 p.m. on the Stray Bullet’s front porch.
