MISSOULA - Please join me in support of reelecting T.J. McDermott for Missoula County Sheriff. As the current Sheriff of Missoula County, Sheriff McDermott has a proven track record of running a jail, making improvements with the diversion program and overseeing a budget. Sheriff McDermott’s work experience includes time on the street as a police officer, county deputy, detective and Sheriff.
Sheriff McDermott has also made improvements to the uniform that is being worn by deputies on the street, the Missoula County Bomb Squad and the Special Response Team. These improvements result in keeping department employees safer in performing their duties and help keep the community much safer as well.
Sheriff McDermott has excelled at working well with outside agencies. Currently the Missoula County Sheriff’s Department participates on the local drug task force and violent crimes task force. The end result is a much safer community in which we live.
I have known Sheriff McDermott for over ten years and found him to be a truly honest, humble man. He is the first Sheriff to get additional funding for a third deputy to support the Seeley/Condon Community. During significant events like wildland fires and floods, the Sheriff and his staff have been there to aid our community enhancing public safety. In several instances this Sheriff has assisted bordering counties that did not have the resources to conduct evacuations or other public safety concerns.
Lastly, I would like to thank the hard working dedicated folks of the Missoula County Sheriff’s Office for their tireless work. This work is conducted day and night and over holidays when others are with their families.
