How to Tackle the Regional Plan

SWAN VALLEY - If you do not have the time or desire to read the second draft word for word, I suggest taking 15 minutes to skim over the entire document. This will enable you to find subtopics in each of the seven elements that are of particular interest to you.

Then write out your comments on those subtopics. There are response sheets available which can help all of us organize our comments. You may email Henry Westra at henry.westra@gmail.com to request them.

Then, may I recommend that you conclude your comments by recognizing that the second draft of the Swan Valley Regional Plan is a good representation of the different opinions of the residents and neighbors of this valley. This must be “our” plan, not just “your” plan or “their” plan.

What is important about this document is that the second draft of the Swan Valley Regional Plan is a good plan for the future of this valley for these reasons:

1) The second draft modified the first draft based on your comments.

2) The second draft recognizes the role of development in the valley, while at the same time protecting the natural resources of the Swan Valley watershed.
